Guitars finished!

Everything has been progressing very nicely over at the 'ole Black Cat Studio this week. While many people have been snowed in with the recent weather challenges, some of my good friends have been hard at work on this album. Tuesday evening my bro in law Jesse was able to track some with the acoustic guitar. I am truly honored to have him play on this record. Jason Hoard, owner of Black Cat Studios, (not pictured) was also able to record the rest of the acoustic parts on the guitar, mandolin, and banjo. So thankful and honored to have Jason play. Everything is getting ready for us to start laying down the vocals this weekend! More updates to come! Check back soon!

Drums finished!

Getting ready to start the morning
We had another great day at Black Cat Studios! I had the opportunity to spend the day with a lot of great people and I had a blast watching this project come together even more. Brian Scoggin came and tracked the drums with us all day, and now all of the drum tracks are finished! Below is some more pictures of our time together and a sample clip of a video we took at end of day when Brian got his hands on some congas.

Recording Begins!

So this week has been very exciting as we have officially started the recording process! Black Cat Studios is definitely energetic, extremely creative, and filled with great talented people. I am very blessed to be on this journey! So far this week, I have recorded rough draft guitar and vocal parts to all 8 songs and the producer (Edgar Vargas) has been working with drums and bass here in the last couple of days. Friday night we did 2 songs with the legend Rob Hardie! Tomorrow we will lay other bass and drum tracks for other 6. Pictures below of our week so far! More pictures and info to come!

Introductions...

Hello everyone, my name is Tyson Moore.

I am the music minister for SovereignHope Church in Senoia, GA.
For those of you who know me, you know that for almost the last decade I have been writing music in response to what God has been teaching me. Since receiving salvation, He has been faithful to put "new songs in my mouth, songs of praise to Him", and it has been my passion to write songs and edify my brothers and sisters with music. I love serving our church through song writing, but I have always been hesitant to make the step towards professional recording and sharing the message of my music beyond our own local church. The hesitation was somewhat rooted in the obvious cost it takes to record an album, but more so in my own fear of promoting myself when my greatest desire is to point people to Jesus. In short, making a record never really seemed like the best thing to do, and the timing never felt quite right...

However, I believe that the time is now here.

Of the many songs God has given me over these years, I am seeking to take about 6-8 of them and make the step towards having them professionally recorded and distributed. These songs individually and collectively exist to point people to Jesus and to the truths of the gospel. However, most of these 6-8 are written and organized in such a way to more specifically point people to Jesus as King who rules and reigns over all, and who will come again with power and great glory one day to rescue His people.

This musical vision primarily comes out of us at Sovereign Hope Church spending the last few years as a family going through the Thessalonian letters and meditating much on the second coming. But as I have been praying through all of this myself, I have been noticing that the Church as a whole (at least in America)  is not very often calling people to look towards the hope of the end and to be living in light of the second coming. The Church needs more songs about our call to action in the present and more songs focused on reality of Jesus coming back.

Let us not live as forgetful people...
